Community-based Mentoring- For as little as an hour or two a week, Bigs and Littles meet in their community to share fun activities, stories, and a little bit of themselves. Learn more » 

Site-based Mentoring- Bigs and Littles meet once a week in schools, libraries and community centers, to talk and have fun. It’s not about being a tutor … it’s about being a friend. Learn more » 

COUL Club Mentoring- Volunteers go on planned events with unmatched Littles whenever they are available. Activities are planned twice a month in the summer and are quarterly during the school year. Learn more »

Mission

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth, primarily through a professionally supported, one-to-one relationship with a caring adult volunteer and to assist them in achieving their highest potential as they grow to become confident, competent, and caring individuals.

Board and Committees

Volunteers who serve on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors or on one of our committees help to advance the agency’s mission to provide volunteer mentors to children. The following committees are always ready to welcome new members and new ideas:

Bowl For Kids’ Sake: Committee meets monthly and focuses on recruiting teams of volunteers to participate in event, seeks door prizes and sponsorships. Contact Julie for more information.

Community Breakfast: help plan and carry out this event which features inspiring stories from Bigs and Littles. Committee plans food, entertainment, decorations, guest list. Committee meets monthly. Contact Julie for more information.

Board Development: identify potential new board members, meet with candidates and assist with board member orientation. Meets as needed. Contact Carolyn for more information.

Finance: oversees budgetary planning for the agency. Committee meets monthly. Contact Carolyn for more information.

Personnel: provides guidance on personnel issues, makes recommendations for updating agency’s personnel manual. Meets as needed. Contact Carolyn for more information.

Sponsor A Match: identifies businesses and individual who may be willing to sponsor the cost of one match for one year ($750), makes sponsorship requests. Meets as needed. Contact Julie for more information.
