Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County provides volunteer mentors to children. Last year we served nearly 900 children! The Big Brothers and Sisters get together once a week with their Little Brothers and Sisters to have fun and experience the every-day joys of friendship. Our Big Brothers and Sisters tell us they think they get more out of their relationship with their Little Brothers and Sisters than the kids do! Research studies have shown, though, that children who are successfully matched with a mentor are less likely to begin early use of alcohol, are less likely to use drugs, are less likely to skip school, do better in school, get along better with their friends and families, and are less likely to act out violently--all because one person became their friend and spent time with them once a week! If you'd like to learn more about impacting a child's life, please browse through our website. If you'd like to learn more about us, we're happy to answer any questions you may have or help you get started in becoming a Big Brother or Sister. One way to get more information about our program is to attend a "Little Moment."
Little Moments We’re trying to get the word out to the community about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County. More than 100 people have attended a “Little Moment” since we began offering these programs fall 2005. We’d love to have your feedback on how we’re doing! Come and hear about the kids we serve, the huge difference our “Bigs” make in the lives of their “Littles” and what is keeping us from helping every child who needs a mentor. These information-packed programs last one hour and include a tour of our new office and some great stories! Our next Little Moments will be held: Tuesday, February 27, at 5:30pm Call 513-867-1227 or 513-424-3397 or email Julie to sign up to attend one of these “Little Moments”.
